Effective Date: October 5, 2022

This policy informs you about how Venvee Inc. (“Venvee”), acting as a data processor, handles the personal information of individuals (“you”) that may be collected by our websites and the products and services we sell.

What We Collect

Venvee collects personal information from multiple sources, including our websites and from our customers’ use of our products or services.

When you visit our websites, we may collect information about your usage of our websites and any contact information you provide to us. We collect this information for marketing purposes and to improve the effectiveness of our marketing programs.

Venvee offers products and services for sale to companies (our “customers”), who are retailers and other business operators, and we process data at their direction. Our customers use our products and services to analyze things that happen in and around their stores and locations. They may use our products and services to collect data from sensors, including video cameras, to use along with other data they own, such as purchases, weather, and third-party information, to manage their businesses. Any information we collect behalf of our customers is in-and-of itself anonymous and it remains unidentifiable to Venvee for as long as we retain it. To understand how these companies handle your data, you must review their privacy policies to learn about their practices.

What This Privacy Policy Does Not Cover

This Privacy Policy applies only to information that may be collected by our websites and the products and services we sell. This Privacy Policy does not apply to any use of that data by our customers. Our customers are responsible for disclosing the use of our products and obtaining any required authorizations from individuals regarding the collection, use or storage of their data. Our customers’ respective privacy policies will govern the collection, use and storage of such information and we encourage you to read each customer’s privacy policy in detail.

Additionally, this privacy policy does not include information on employee data privacy, which can be found inside of our employee handbook.

Website Privacy and Data Collection

Venvee owns and operates multiple websites, including a marketing website and a support website.

We use persistent first-party cookies (a small text file placed on your computer to identify your computer and browser) to collect information on your browsing activity for analytics and statistical purposes. The information, for example may include:

  • Browser and operating system versions

  • IP address

  • Content viewed

  • Duration of visit

  • Click-stream data

  • Which website referred you to us

You can configure cookie retention settings, refuse all cookies, indicate when a cookie is being sent, and block or accept individual cookies in your browser settings.

When you visit our websites, we use third-party services for hosting, analytics, advertising, customer support, content acceleration, and other promotional purposes, including Google (Analytics and Ad Services) and others.

We collect your email address and other contact and personal information you provide to us when communicating with us via email or when you enter it on our website. We use information about which web pages you access along with information you provide to improve the content of our web pages and the quality of our service. We use your contact information for marketing and sales purposes. We honor requests to opt out of marketing and sales communications; if you opt out, we will maintain your contact information in our “do not contact” list.

The websites we operate do not collect or use the type of information that is generally subject to your browser’s “Do Not Track” (DNT) privacy preference. As such, our websites do not look for this signal from your browser.

Our websites contain contact forms for the purposes of providing support for and information on our products and services. Through these voluntary data collection forms, we collect personal information such as your name, your email, and your company.

Customer Account Data

To conduct business with our customers, it is necessary for us to collect and retain some personal information for contact and account purposes, such as names, emails, addresses and billing information.

Customer account information will primarily be used for account needs, such as to provide support or facilitate payments. It is possible that customers will receive promotions or marketing material on new products and services through the personal information affiliated with their account.

Your Data Rights

  • Right to Know. You have the right to know what personal information is collected, used, shared or sold. We outline the data we collect, as well as how it is used, in this privacy policy.

  • Right to Erasure / “To Be Forgotten”. It is your right to request, subject to certain limitations under applicable law, that your personal information be erased from our possession and, by extension, from all of our service providers. Fulfillment of some data deletion requests may prevent you from using Venvee services because our products or services may no longer work. In such cases, a data deletion request may result in closing your account.

  • Right to Complain. You have the right to make a complaint regarding our handling of your personal information with the appropriate supervisory authority.

  • Right to Restrict Processing. It is your right to request restriction of how and why your personal information is used or processed, including opting out of sale of personal information. We do not currently sell your information.

  • Right to not Be Subject to Automated Decision-Making. You have the right to object to and prevent any decision that could have a legal or similarly significant effect on you from being made solely based on automated processes. This right is limited if the decision is necessary for performance of any contract between you and us, is allowed by applicable law, or is based on your explicit consent.

  • Right to Non-Discrimination. We do not and will not change what and how we offer you our products, offer you discounts, or provide customer service to you because you have exercised your data privacy rights. However, the exercise of certain rights may, by virtue of your exercising those rights, prevent you from using our services.

If you have questions about exercising these rights or need assistance, please contact us at privacy@venvee.com. If an authorized agent is corresponding on your behalf, we require written consent with a signature from the account holder before proceeding.

Additionally, if you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you believe our processing of your personal information violates applicable law.

Data Retention

We retain personal information and other forms of customer data for as long as our Customers use our Services or as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, provide our Services, resolve disputes, establish legal defenses, conduct audits, pursue legitimate business purposes, enforce our agreements, and comply with applicable laws. While some of the data we collect is ultimately destroyed, in some cases it will be retained indefinitely.

For more information regarding data retention please request a copy of our Data Retention Policy.

Venvee is headquartered in the United States. Any information collected will be retained and processed in the United States.

Sharing of Personal Data

  • Service Providers: Venvee contracts with third-party service providers to perform services on our behalf or to assist us with the provision of services to you, such as database hosting, security, communications, processing and administering customer accounts and payments, providing customer support, and analyzing and enhancing data. It is our policy to request that our service providers agree not to access or use any information or data they may have access to while providing services to Venvee other than as specified by us and for the purpose for which it was originally collected.

  • Change of Control: If Venvee is involved in a bankruptcy, merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, you agree that your information may be sold, transferred, or licensed as part of that transaction, so long as the new entity safeguards the information to the extent required by applicable law, does not further disclose the personal data except to the extent necessary to continue to provide reasonable services, does not use it in any way that materially violates their then-current privacy policy. The material promises in this policy will apply to your information as transferred to the new entity, including your rights as written above.

  • Business Partners: Venvee may provide your personal information to our business partners to provide you with a product or service you have requested. We may also provide personal information to business partners with whom we jointly offer products or services. In such cases, our business partner’s name will appear along with ours.

  • Government Requests: Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this policy, we may preserve or disclose your information if we believe that it is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation, national security requirement, or legal request or to protect the safety, property, or rights of Venvee or others, as well as to collect amounts owed to us, and when we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to prevent financial loss or in connection with an investigation or prosecution of suspected or actual illegal activity, or if we, in good faith, believe that disclosure is otherwise necessary or advisable. However, nothing in this policy is intended to limit any legal defenses or objections that you may have to a third-party or government request to disclose your information.
